What is the Library Streamlining project and why is it being done now?
Answer
Deselection is an essential component of any collection management plan in order to maintain a collection that meets the needs of students and the curriculum. Hampered by the shutdowns and reduction in staff following COVID 19, the physical libraries located at VTSU Castleton, Johnson, Lyndon, Randolph, and Williston, have been unable to maintain regular evaluation of the library collection. Following best practice to right-size and improve the vitality of the collection, a streamlining path was proposed (see link below).
