What is deselection?

What is deselection?

Answer

Deselection is a process where books are removed from the collection based on specific criteria crafted by the library. Deselection is an essential component of maintaining a healthy and robust collection that meets the organization’s goals and mission. Librarians do this on an ongoing basis. Similar to acquisitions, deselection is a collaborative, transparent, and sustainable process.
